BLACK GETS SERIES DEFENCE OFF TO THE PERFECT START!
Sean Black has picked up where he left off taking the win in Round One of the McCosker Super Sedan Series at Autobarn Carina International Speedway in Bundaberg!
Black’s night got off to a perfect start after winning the first heat race of the night. Leigh Williams took the win in heat two. Steve Jordan conquered the field in heat three, and Bob McCosker was victorious in heat four. Justin Randall marked his return to the series with a win in heat five, and Black would become the only multiple heat winner by taking at the sixth and final heat of the night. Randall topped the points after three heats, and would be joined on the front row by Steve Jordan for the thirty lap main event.
Jordan won the start from the top of the track setting a cracking pace from the get go with Randall settling into second with Josh McLaren in third. Williams made the pass for third on lap five and set off after the front two. The caution came out on lap eleven for a stricken Mick Nicola. Having started from sixth Black had moved to fourth for the restart, and quickly passed Williams and Randall to move to second.
The caution was out again on lap twenty two after Randall spun, sending himself to the rear of the field. Jordan was under immense pressure from Black for the final portion of the race, and Black was able to make the move with two laps to run! Black took his first win of the season, with Jordan hanging on for second ahead of Williams in third. McLaren crossed the line fourth, and McCosker rounded at the top five.
