Pascoe kicked his night off in perfect fashion, taking out a dominant heat race victory in the opening heat of the night. Justin Randall crossed the line second, ahead of Ryan Cats in third.
Victorian Mick Nicola got his night off to a great start, leading from wire to wire in heat two. Matty Pascoe started rear of the field after being a late nomination, and charged through to finish second. Rob Hamilton rounded out the podium in third.
Former Tasmanian Sam Hughes took out a commanding win in heat three. Hughes led home Jye O’Brien in second, and Randall in third.
Rockhampton’s Harry Doyle took home a narrow victory in heat four, with just 0.467 seconds separating the top three. Nicola crossed the line in second, from Brad Pascoe in third.
Ryan Cats took out heat race five, after a tight tussle with Hughes in second, and Brad Pascoe in third.
O’Brien kept his streak of a heat race win at every event he has attended this season alive after taking out the sixth and final heat of the night. Michael Hally was next across the line in second, from Randall in third.
Brad Pascoe qualified on pole position, but would elect to start from the outside of the front row, with O’Brien to start from pole position for the thirty lap main event.
Pascoe won the initial start and powered down the back straight into the lead before the caution flag flew for a spinning Randall in turn three.
O’Brien made the most of the second chance and took the lead from the complete restart.
O’Brien led lap one from Brad Pascoe in second, Nicola in third, Matty Pascoe in fourth and Hughes in fifth.
Cats moved into the top five after Hughes got very squirrelly out of turn four on the opening lap.
The caution lights were back out on lap five after Cats came unstuck and Hamilton spun to avoid a collision, sending Cats to the rear for the restart.
O’Brien led away at the resumption from Brad Pascoe, Nicola, Matty Pascoe and Hally who entered the top five.
Hally made the top side of the track work to take fourth position from Matty Pascoe.
Out front Brad Pascoe was applying a heap of pressure to O’Brien for the lead of the race.
After a couple of close calls Pascoe drove the car deep into turn one and powered around the outside to take the lead on lap twelve.
Hally and Matty Pascoe ran side by side lap after lap for nearly ten laps straight before Pascoe finally took fourth place back at the halfway mark of the race.
Nicola reeled in O’Brien and began to pressure the ninety nine machine for the runner up spot. Matty Pascoe also entered to battle trying to earn his spot on the podium.
Nicola got a little too close to O’Brien as the three cars ran in close proximity to one another and Nicola made contact with O’Brien, sending O’Brien for a spin in turns one and two, and Nicola to the rear with eight laps to run.
This elevated Matty Pascoe to third for the restart and he powered around the outside of O’Brien on the restart to take second position.
Cats’ night came to an abrupt end, as his rear end went up in flames ending his race five laps from home.
Cautions bred cautions as things got very ugly at the next restart to bring the caution flag back out.
From the next restart Doyle spun in turn one and a big accident saw about the demise of Hughes and Nicola.
Brad Pascoe held his nerve up front and led the final five laps to take out his third win of the season and the $2000 winners prize to go with it.
Matty Pascoe crossed the line second to complete the Pascoe one two, as O’Brien rounded out the podium for his second third placed finish of the season.
Hally was next across the line in fourth for his best finish of the season to date, and Hamilton rounded out the top five.
Doyle was next across the line in sixth ahead of Michael Taylor who rounded out the finishers in seventh.
The McCosker Super Sedan Series will return to action on the 30th of November at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway for the Jack Childs Challenge which will also be the third round of the Ultimate Super Sedan Championship.
