After previously being held at Archerfield Speedway, and McCosker Gladstone Speedway, it will be Toowoomba’s turn this weekend, for what will be the fifth running of the event that honours the late Graham Pascoe.
This seasons GP53 will see thirty two drivers travel from far and wide to battle it out for the $5300 winners prize.
Twenty two Queenslanders, five Victorians, three New South Welshmen, a Tasmanian, and a South Australian make up the thirty two car field.
The field is absolutely stacked with a whopping seven National Champions in the field including current National Champion Joel Berkley.
Berkley has been in great form aboard the Bob McCosker owned Dominator, and will be hoping to go to victory lane for the fourth time this season.
Berkley will have to contend with 2023 GP53 winner Brad Pascoe (Grandson of Graham), who has bagged five feature wins this season, including the 20k to win Sue Hawkings Memorial. Pascoe will be gunning for another big Memorial victory this Saturday night.
Former five time National Champion Darren Kane has been in great form at Toowoomba this season having already taken out two feature wins at ‘T-Bar’. Kane will look to add to that this weekend, and take home the $5300 winners prize.
Matty Pascoe heads to Toowoomba fresh off of winning the WA Title, and will look to become a three time winner of the event named after his father.
JJ Hamilton took out the Ian Boettcher Classic earlier in the season, and will be looking to claim another big pay day on the ‘High Banks’ of Toowoomba Speedway.
Brock Atkins is another driver heading to Toowoomba off the back of a big win. Atkins took out the North South 50 at Moama last weekend, and will look to make it 15K in two weekends on Saturday night at Toowoomba.
Brock will be joined by his brother Todd who took out the South Australian Title at Murray Bridge last month. Atkins was also in ripper form during our last appearance at Toowoomba where he finished second. Atkins will look to go one better this weekend, and take home the $5300.
A strong interstate contingent will join the Atkins brothers with Callum Harper, Mick Nicola Jnr and Snr, Ash Bergmeier, Tyson Moon, and Dave Gartner all making the trek to Toowoomba
Drivers will contest two rounds of heats with the top ten in points heading to the gold/silver/bronze shootout. The fastest driver will earn $500, and start from position ten on the grid. The fastest qualifier will select who starts ninth, and so forth to set the top ten for the fifty three lap main event.
If you’re not able to make it to the track, every lap will be live on Clay-Per-View.
