Season Opener Take Two, McCosker Super Sedan Series Heads to Gympie

The McCosker Super Sedan Series will have its second attempt at a launch this Saturday night, when it heads to Gympie Speedway for round two of the series.
After the opening round was washed out, seventeen drivers are locked in to contest the season opener in Gympie over two nights.
Former National Champion Trent Wilson returns to the venue where he won his National Title in 2022, and will be chasing his first feature victory since his National Title triumph.
Zac Pascoe showed plenty of speed at Gympie last season, bagging three top five finishes which included two podiums. Pascoe will chase his first victory on the ‘Mountain’ this weekend.
Toowoomba’s Sean Black is no stranger to success at the Gympie venue, and will be looking to get his season off to a victorious start this weekend in Gympie.
Hayden and Zac Brims will make their first starts aboard a pair of Sweet Chassis that were acquired in the off season. Hayden will be behind the wheel of a brand new car, whilst Zac will pilot the ex Adrian Geary Sweet Chassis. They will be joined by their younger brother Jackson Brims who will make his Super Sedan debut this weekend.
Rockhampton’s Harry Doyle has been knocking on the door for his first feature win with the McCosker Series, and will look to get the monkey off his back this weekend in Gympie.
Doyle will be joined by fellow Rockhampton driver Leigh Williams who makes his return to the track after a couple of seasons off.
Mick Nicola, Mark Pagel, Rob Hamilton, David Musch, and Michael Hally will all toss their hat in the ring in the chase for a victory this weekend.
The weekend of racing will get underway on Saturday with two rounds of heats to set the field for a top nine dash in honour of Brian Learoyd. The field will then split into odds and evens features, with the points to carry over into night two.
A further two rounds of heats will take place on Sunday night, with the top nine in points heading to the pole shuffle.
The winner of the pole shuffle will receive $100, and have the option to invert the top nine. If they take up the challenge, the pole shuffle winner will be racing for $5000 if they can take win after the thirty five lap main event.
If you’re not able to make it to Gympie this weekend, every lap will be streamed live on Clay-Per-View.
