Berkley's Bundy Bash !!

Joel Berkley took out last weekends fourth round of the McCosker Super Sedan Series at Autobarn Carina International Speedway in Bundaberg.
Drivers fought a slimy track in the opening heat of the night with Brad Pascoe coming out on top. Pascoe led the way from Zac Brims in second, and Harry Doyle in third.
Doyle led from the outset of heat two to take the chequers in heat two. Doyle led home Pascoe in second, and David Musch in third.
Brisbane’s Sam Hughes was hassled all the way in heat three, but he took win from National Champion Berkley in second and Michael Hally in third.
Berkley was victorious in the final heat of the night, taking out a dominant victory over Hally in second, and Doyle in third.
Doyle qualified on pole position for the thirty lap decider, with Pascoe on his outside. Berkley would launch from the inside of row two, with Hally on his outside.
Doyle dove deep into turn one of the opening lap to take the lead from Berkley, Pascoe, Brims and Hally in the top five.
Doyle was fighting a tight racecar, allowing Berkley to draw level. Doyle fought back around the outside to hold on to the lead, as Berkley’s car began to smoke under braking.
Pascoe and Brims closed in on the lead pair, to make it a four car foray for the lead of the race.
The yellow flag flew on lap six for a spinning Will Hockley.
Berkley jumped to lead from the restart, with Brims taking third from Pascoe.
Brims looked to be the fastest car on the track as he began to pressure Doyle for the runner up spot.
Brims faced pressure from Pascoe who looked to regain third position, but Brims got his Sweet Chassis wound up on the outside and took second from Doyle.
Brims quickly closed in on Berkley and powered around the outside of turns one and two to take the lead of the race with twenty laps to run.
Brims was flying, and put a big gap between himself and Berkley in second. Berkley maintained second, and held a comfortable gap over the battle for third between Doyle and Pascoe.
Brims closed in on lap traffic, and struggled to clear the lap car of Hockley, allowing Berkley to close right in on the tail of the leader.
Brims continued to look for a way around the lap car, and a big push in turns one and two shot his car into Berkley’s path, who made contact with Brims right rear tyre.
Brims suffered a right rear puncture ending his charge and promoting Berkley to the lead of the race.
Berkley’s car had began to smoke again in the closing stages as Doyle and Pascoe closed right back in as the white flag flew.
Berkley and his ailing car held on to a narrow victory, over Doyle in second and Pascoe in third. Musch was next across the line in fourth, ahead of Hughes who rounded out the top five.
Hally was next across the line in sixth, ahead of Hockley in seventh, and Jackson Brims rounding out the finishers in eighth.
The McCosker Super Sedan Series will return to action on the 22nd of November when we head to Maryborough for the first time for a few seasons.
