Sean Black got his night off to a winning start, also leading from start to finish in heat two. Zac Brims pushed Black all the way to finish second, ahead of Michael Hally in third.

Sam Hughes won a thriller in heat five, taking a 0.187 second win from Hally in second, with Nicola rounding out the podium in third.
Zac Brims took the lead on the final lap, to get the win in the sixth and final heat of the night. Musch picked up another runner up finish, ahead of ‘The Joker’ Steve Jordan in third.
Nicola qualified on pole position for the thirty lap main event, and would be joined on the front row by McCosker, in a great qualifying effort for the Gladstone veteran.
Hally and Musch locked out the second row, with Zac Brims and Black set to start from row three.
Nicola got the best of the start to lead the opening stanza from McCosker in second, Brims in third who got a great jump from fifth. Hally ran fourth, from Black in fifth at the end of the opening lap.
Brims took second from McCosker, as Black made the top side work to take fourth from Hally. Black looked to make his way on to podium inside three laps before the opening caution of the race for a big pile up on the back straight that saw the demise of Sam Hughes.
The left front tyre parted company with Steve Jordan’s car, which saw another big pile up in turns three and four before the race could go back green.
Nicola would lead the way at the resumption from Brims, Black who took third at the restart, from McCosker in fourth and Hally in fifth.
Brims was applying plenty of pressure to the former three time National Champion in Nicola as Black looked to make himself a lane on the top of the track.
Black built up the momentum, and blasted around Brims through turns three and four, before taking the lead from Nicola through turns three and four.
Black began to build a sizeable advantage before the caution flag was out again for a spinning Nash Granger.
Black led at the restart from Nicola in second, Williams in third, Brims in fourth, and Hally rounding out the top five.
Black was flying and quickly jumped out to a straight away lead over the intense battle for second.
Williams found speed on the inside to take the runner up spot, he was followed through by Brims, who relegated Nicola to fourth.
Rob Hamilton made his way into the top five at the halfway mark of the race after starting from deep in the pack.
Black was making his way comfortably through lap traffic as the battle between Williams and Brims raged on for second.
Hamilton continued his charge, taking fourth from Nicola with nine laps to run. Hamilton’s charge would unfortunately come to a premature end when he brought out the caution flag after losing power with six laps to run.
Williams also exited the race under caution, relinquishing the runner up spot to Brims.
Black continued to work the top side of the track from the restart, as Brims pursued in second, Nicola in third, Hally in fourth, and Will Hockley in fifth who chased his best Super Sedan finish.
Hockley took fourth from Hally, as the laps dwindled down.
Out front Black was under immense pressure from Brims as his right rear began to fade with three laps to run.
Brims threw a big move coming to the white flag in turns three and four, but Black kept the momentum up on the top side to hold on the lead at the white flag.
Brims drove in even deeper into turns three and four coming to the chequers and made contact with Black’s left front. Black clouted the wall, but looked to get his feet back under him in the charge to line.
Nicola who entered turn three in third position saw his chance and dove to the bottom of the track as Black come back to the inside of Brims. All three cars went across the line together making heavy contact, with Nicola ahead on the timing monitor.
Initially Black was declared the winner, but after protest, and booth review Nicola was granted the victory.
Black was officially scored in second, from Hockley who picked up the first podium finish of his young career.
Hally crossed the line in fourth, ahead of Leigh Williams who rounded out the top five. Colin Hockley was next across the line in sixth, ahead of Granger who rounded out the finishers in seventh.
