The battle for the series crown is set to go right down to the wire with Harry Doyle currently holding a slender eleven point lead over Michael Hally in second.
Doyle and Hally will look to stake their claim for the Championship before the final round at Bundaberg next weekend.
Looking to spoil the party is Brad Pascoe who will head to the ‘High Banks’ fresh off of bagging $20000 at the Sue Hawkings Memorial for the second season in a row.
Joining Pascoe will be Todd Atkins who had a modest night by his lofty standards at Gladstone, but still came away with a quality podium finish.
Zac Brims came up just short of the $20000 payday at Gladstone, but returns to Toowoomba where he claimed $10000 in the Ian Boettcher Classic on New Year’s Eve.
A strong interstate contingent will be headlined by former Victorian and South Australian Champion Mick Nicola Jnr who has already claimed a podium finish at Toowoomba this season.
Nicola Jnr will be joined by his father Mick Nicola Snr, as well as Tasmania’s Corey Smith who has purchased the ex Mitchell Gee Sweet Chassis, and New South Welshman Liam Heaton who has acquired the ex Zac Pascoe Sweet Chassis.
Former National Champion Trent Wilson returns to the track for the first time since the end of March. He’ll be joined by great mate and Toowoomba’s own Sean Black who has been in fantastic form in the second half of the season.
Racing will get underway at 4pm with each driver set to tackle two heat races to set the field for the thirty lap main event.
If you’re not able to make it Toowoomba every lap will be streamed live on Clay-Per-View.
