BLACK POWERS TO TBAR TRIUMPH!

Sean Black took out last Saturday nights eighteenth round of the McCosker Super Sedan Series at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway for his second victory of the season, and his first at his home track since 2022.
Black qualified on the outside of the front row, alongside Todd Atkins who earlier in the evening set a new lap record around Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway.
Black got a great launch to lead the opening circulation from Atkins, Harry Doyle and Michael Hally who were locked in a titanic battle for the series crown.
The caution flag flew for the first time on lap three after Jackson Brims went for a spin.
Black led at the resumption from Doyle who nailed the restart to take second position from Atkins in third, Hally in fourth and Zac Brims in fifth.
Hally’s race ended in dramatic fashion after heavy contact with the main straight wall, he was miraculously able to continue, before cutting down a right rear tyre a lap later to bring out the caution flag.
Black led away again after the restart with the race finally embracing a long green flag run. Brims advanced on to the podium relegating Atkins to fourth, ahead of ‘The Joker’ Steve Jordan in fifth.
The caution flag flew again after a dramatic crash for Michael Taylor.
With just ten laps complete Black continued to lead from Doyle, Atkins, Jordan and Mick Nicola Snr.
Queensland Champion Brad Pascoe had started thirteenth in the field, and had made his way up to seventh position after eleven laps.
Black continued to build his lead, as Pascoe made his way into the top five just after the halfway mark of the race.
Doyle and Atkins closed the gap to Black in the lead as he battled heavy lap traffic, but Black was able to execute his moves to rebuild his advantage over the chasing pack.
Doyle faced pressure from Atkins, whilst Pascoe advanced to fourth with ten laps remaining.
Black by this stage had cemented his lead as the laps wound down. Pascoe took third position from Atkins with four laps to run.
Black went on to record a popular victory in front of his hometown crowd. Doyle held on to second to cement his position at the top of the series standings, narrowly holding off Pascoe in third.
Atkins was next across the line in fourth position, ahead of Jordan who rounded out the top five.
Mick Nicola Jnr crossed the line in sixth, just ahead of his father Mick Nicola Snr in seventh. Tasmanian Corey Smith finished eighth, ahead of former National Champion Trent Wilson in ninth, and Sam Hughes who rounded out the top ten.
The 2025/26 McCosker Super Sedan Series will conclude tomorrow with the inaugural Allan Butcher Classic at Autobarn Carina International Speedway in Bundaberg.
