Brims started the fifty lap three thousand dollar to win main event from pole position after his brother Zac Brims went QuickTime in the top ten shootout, and inverted the top four starting positions.
Sean Black joined Brims on the front row with Mitchell Gee and Zac Brims to start on row two.
Hayden Brims shot to the lead at the drop of the green flag, leading the opening lap from Black, Zac Brims, Gee and Queensland Champion Brad Pascoe rounding out the top five.
Zac claimed second position on lap three whilst Pascoe worked his way by Gee and Black in successive laps to take the final spot on the podium.
Hayden looked to having a handful with his car, as he came under increasing pressure from his brother Zac, and Pascoe as the three battled for the lead.
Hayden was able to wrangle his car back underneath him, and extend his advantage over Zac and Pascoe as they battled over second position.
Gee relegated Black to fifth, before Michael Hally entered the top five, with Black falling to sixth position.
Hally continued his run by taking fourth position with thirty three laps remaining.
With the race yet to face a caution flag, the lead trio entered lap traffic with the battle for the lead tightening as we headed past the halfway mark of the race.
Zac went to the topside as he looked to make his way by his brother for the lead and just as it looked like he was going to get the job done the caution flag finally flew on lap forty two.
The field bunched up for the final eight lap charge to the flag, with Hayden leading at the resumption from Zac, Pascoe, Hally and Gee.
The lead trio again gapped themselves from the rest of the field as the laps wound down.
Zac left the door open as he tried to again utilise the outside of the track to take the lead, allowing Pascoe through to second on the penultimate lap.
Hayden was able to hold on narrowly, greeting the chequered flag 0.262 seconds clear of Pascoe in second, Zac rounded out the podium in third.
Hally was next across the line in fourth, from Gee in fifth. David Musch ended his driving career with a sixth placed finish, ahead of Black in seventh. ‘The Joker’ Steve Jordan was next across the line in eighth, from former National Champion Trent Wilson in ninth.
Harry Doyle rounded out the top ten, which was enough to secure the McCosker Super Sedan Series crown for the first time in his career.
