A quality field of ten drivers will battle it out on the Mountain as they look to gain the ascendancy heading into next weekends Queensland Title at Toowoomba.
Defending McCosker Series Champion Harry Doyle will pilot the GL3 Sweet Chassis owned by Graeme Elliott, as he looks to get his title defence off to the perfect start.
Zac Brims had a break out year last season, banking big wins in the Ian Boettcher Classic and GP53. Brims will look to keep his momentum rolling, and get his season off to a winning start at Gympie.
Zac will be joined by his brothers Hayden and Jackson. Hayden won the corresponding race last season, and is also a last start winner having taken out the Allan Butcher Classic at Bundaberg in the final race of last season.
Jackson will be making his first start in a newly acquired Sweet Chassis, and will be looking to build upon his maiden season in which he claimed Rookie of the Year honours.
The Brims brothers will have to contend with a pair of former National Champions in Trent Wilson and Steve Jordan, with Wilson’s National Title victory coming at the Gympie venue.
Last seasons McCosker Series runner up Michael Hally is set to debut a brand new Dominator Chassis as he looks to go one spot better in the 2026/27 season.
Gympie’s own Mark Pagel will look to get his season off to a strong start on home soil, as will last seasons Most Improved driver Steve Potts, and Michael Taylor who returns after a challenging 2025/26 season.
Racing is set to get underway at 5pm, with every lap streamed live on Clay-Per-View.
